Why We Evolved Beyond Pure Atomic Design
Brad Frost's 2013 Atomic Design framework taught the industry to compose modular components rather than static screens. However, in modern web applications, the chemistry metaphor breaks down: subjective debates over molecules versus organisms create friction, design tokens have no native tier, and "templates and pages" reflect static document sites rather than reactive, state-driven interfaces.
