Why We Chose 12V Over 24V or 48V

While 48V architectures reduce conductor gauge size and line loss for massive inverters, a 12V architecture remains the undisputed king for serviceability in remote regions:

  1. Native DC Ecosystem: 12V marine water pumps, LED puck lights, diesel air heaters, and MaxxFan roof ventilators operate directly off the bus bar with zero stepped-down conversion losses.
  2. Alternator Integration: Dual alternator and DC-DC charging can feed straight from the factory vehicle battery without complex high-voltage isolators.
  3. Emergency Parts Availability: An automotive parts store in rural Utah or Montana will carry 12V fuses, relays, and battery lugs; finding 48V telecom-grade breakers in a pinch is nearly impossible.
